Yeast minimal media and synthetic defined premixes (SD) comes in highly convenient single-use pouches. Simply empty the content of the pouch into your media flask/bottle, add 0.5 L of dH2O, and sterilize. No weighing of individual supplements, combining, or pH adjustment is required. Synthetic defined (SD) broths and agar minimal media consist of a carbon source (glucose), a nitrogen source, and amino acids. In each particular SD mix, certain amino acids have been “dropped out”. All minimal yeast media pouch mixes are available either with agar or without (broth).
