The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence is an expansion of the Eppendorf BioSpectrometer basic and features an integrated fluorescence module. Measurements can be flexibly executed in the UV/Vis or fluorescence range. The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence can be used to increase the measuring range for biomolecules (nucleic acids and proteins) by a factor of 1,000, compared to UV measurements. What's more, fluorescence dyes allow a more accurate and reliable quantification due to the fact that these dyes bind specifically to the target biomolecule. UV/Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence are complementary methods. The Eppendorf BioSpectrometer fluorescence is the first spectrophotometer on the market which combines both measuring methods in one small, compact device.
